Creators Policy
Intellectual Property
Deskmat.io’s marketplace is generated by independent sellers who are not employees, agents, or representatives of Deskmat.io. Sellers are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary rights to their content and that they are not infringing or violating any third party’s rights by posting it.
Deskmat.io reserves the right to disable any listing, shop, or account that we believe violates our Terms of Use, including this Creator Policy document. Deskmat.io also reserves the right to take action against abusers of Deskmat.io’s Creator Policy or our Terms of Use.
Deskmat.io can’t speak on behalf of intellectual property owners, nor is Deskmat.io in a position to offer legal advice or make legal determinations whether a creator’s content infringes someone else’s intellectual property. Deskmat.io will remove material cited for alleged intellectual property infringement when provided with a proper notice.
Payments
Deskmat.io uses Stripe for payments. For a Creator’s items to become available for sale and visible in the catalog - a successfull Stripe account needs to be created with complete and legal documents. Payment Schedule is set to one month rolling basis.
Earning money
Deskmat.io has 2 type of accounts. Designer and Influencer. This document refers to both types as Creator.
Designer: Creates and uploads one or multiple artworks to the platform for the purpose of existing on the frontpage (https://deskmat.io) or in the catalog (https://deskmat.io/catalog).
Influencer: Creates one artwork - (or gets help to create one artwork) for the purpose of advertising their custom desk mat on their platforms. (e.g. Youtube, Instagram or Twitch)
Designers make 10% per sale by default - unless the customer arrives via the Designer’s page link. (E.g. https://deskmat.io/glutch). In that case the Designer will earn 20% for that sale. If a Designer’s customer decides to upload and purchase their own self-provided image. The Designer still earns 20%.
Influencers make 20% per sale by selling their own design, or if their customer decides to upload their own custom image.
No Creator can earn money from directing a customer to another Creators work. When a print is sold, it’s the owner that receives the money, no matter who directed them.
Once a customer arrives to deskmat.io via a Creator’s page link, a cookie gets set with the Creators id. If the customer leaves and returns 2 weeks later and purchases the Creator’s print, the Creator still earns 20%.
A cookie normally persists for 30 days, unless the customer clears their browser cookies. A Creator only receives their additional affiliate bonus if their cookie is provided. (Designer: +10% referral. Both: 20% custom image upload). This means that it is not 100% guaranteed, but in the vast majority of cases should work correctly.
Art ownership
By uploading an artwork to the platform, you allow Deskmat.io to use it for advertising purposes and selling desk mats for as long as you keep the art on the website. If you remove the artwork, we will no longer use it for any purpose.
Previously posted content on third party sites e.g. reddit posts or giveaways - where your artwork is visible among others, will remain online and not removed (on the third party site). Your art will always immediately disappear from Deskmat.io once your remove it.
