Creator / Partner Policy

Designers & Influencers

This document utilizes the terms partner, creator, and designer interchangeably to denote your role.

Intellectual Property

Deskmat.io’s marketplace is generated by independent sellers who are not employees, agents, or representatives of Deskmat.io. Sellers are responsible for ensuring they have all necessary rights to their content and that they are not infringing or violating any third party’s rights by posting it.

Deskmat.io reserves the right to disable any listing, shop, or account that we believe violates our Terms of Use, including this Partner Policy document. Deskmat.io also reserves the right to take action against abusers of Deskmat.io’s Partner Policy or our Terms of Use.

Deskmat.io can’t speak on behalf of intellectual property owners, nor is Deskmat.io in a position to offer legal advice or make legal determinations whether a partner’s content infringes someone else’s intellectual property. Deskmat.io will remove material cited for alleged intellectual property infringement when provided with a proper notice.

Payments

Deskmat.io uses Stripe for payments. For a Partner’s items to become available for sale and visible in the catalog - a successfull Stripe account needs to be created with complete and legal documents. Payment Schedule is set to one month rolling basis.

Advertising your deskmat.io partnership

In accordance with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) guidelines, YouTube content creators are required to transparently disclose any endorsements or sponsorships associated with their posted content. This includes, but is not limited to, brand collaborations, product placements or gifted items. Such disclosures must be explicitly presented within the video's description. Minimal tags such as #sp or #partner are insufficient by themselves. It's imperative to explicitly specify the sponsoring brand and use unequivocal language to elucidate the nature of the sponsorship. This is to ensure compliance with regulations and maintain transparency with viewers.

Earning money as a partner

Once a customer arrives to deskmat.io via a Partner’s page link (referral link, affiliate link), a cookie gets set with the Partners id. If the customer leaves and returns 2 weeks later and purchases the Partner's design, the Partner still earns their share.

A cookie normally persists for 30 days, unless the customer clears their browser cookies. A Partner only receives their additional affiliate bonus if their cookie is provided. (With referral cookie, 20%, without: 10%). It works this way since a partner that drives their customer themselves earns 20%, while if deskmat.io brings the customer the partner earns 10%.

Partners are not permitted to earn compensation by redirecting a customer to another Partner's work. In the event a print is sold, the revenue will be allocated to the owner of that specific design, regardless of who initiated the customer connection. However, Partners will maintain entitlement to their commission in instances where their referred customer elects to purchase a design created by Glutch, the in-house designer for deskmat.io.

Art ownership

By uploading an artwork to the platform, you allow Deskmat.io to use it for advertising purposes and selling desk mats for as long as you keep the art on the website. If you remove the artwork, we will no longer use it for any purpose.

Previously posted content on third party sites e.g. reddit posts or giveaways - where your artwork is visible among others, will remain online and not removed (on the third party site). Your art will always immediately disappear from Deskmat.io once your remove it.
